Touken Ranbu: Six Sword Warriors Come to Kumamoto

The special edition of the Oshiro Expo in Kumamoto receives its own collaboration with "Touken Ranbu ONLINE" on October 3 and 4, 2026. In the Kumamoto Castle Hall, six Touken Danshi will be shown whose historical models are linked to Kumamoto, the castle or regional families.

As Nijimen reports and the event's organizing committee officially confirms, Kasen Kanesada, Kokin Denju no Tachi, Jizo Yukihira, Matsui Go, Doudanuki Masakuni and Hotarumaru are part of the collaboration area. Alongside the characters, panels explain the history of the real swords and their respective ties to Kumamoto. Kasen Kanesada, for example, was connected to the Hosokawa family, and Hotarumaru was kept at the Aso Shrine.

Touken Ranbu Meets Real Sword History

The cooperation does not stop at character motifs. The event also includes a special exhibition on the roughly 400-year history of Kumamoto Castle. In a dedicated sword section, a work by Doudanuki Masakuni is shown, a sword smith associated with Kato Kiyomasa. The official event page also announces exhibitions, lectures and programs on castle and regional history.

On October 3, a stage appearance by Okkii Konnosuke is additionally planned. For the collaboration, a goshuin-style castle stamp sticker and a clear file folder will also be released. Ten percent of the proceeds from these two products are to go to relief measures following the 2026 Kumamoto earthquake.

For "Touken Ranbu" this is already the next collaboration linking the game with real cultural history. Only recently, a gallery of traditional craftsmanship at the KOUGEI EXPO in Kanagawa was announced. In addition, the franchise is expanding its event and games offerings with the ice show "Touken Ranbu: ICE BLADE" as well as "Fit Boxing Touken Ranbu".

The special edition of the Oshiro Expo takes place on October 3 and 4, each day from 9 to 17, at the Kumamoto Castle Hall.
