About us

aninew reports in German on anime, manga, and the culture around them — quickly, traceably, and without a detour through English.

Why we exist

A large share of the relevant news first appears in Japanese and reaches the German-speaking world only days later, if at all. We shorten that path: we continuously monitor Japanese trade media and report in German on what is actually new.

How we work

Our articles are created with AI assistance. Research, translation, and draft writing are carried out automatically on the basis of publicly accessible sources; editorial responsibility lies with a named person who is listed in the imprint.

Two fixed rules follow from this:

  1. Every article discloses its sources. At the end of each piece it states what it is based on. Anyone who wants to read the original report can get there with one click.
  2. We label what is genuinely uncertain. Unconfirmed information and rumors are identified as such. Routine reports from official sources do not receive a warning notice — a notice that appears everywhere says nothing anymore.

We consider this disclosure a matter of course: anyone reading news should know how it was produced.

Corrections

Mistakes happen — with automated production just as with manual work. If you notice one, write to us at [email protected]. We check every report and correct affected articles promptly.
