Privacy Policy

1. Controller

The controller responsible for data processing on this website is:

Magnus Ohle
Haaggasse 10
72070 Tübingen
E-mail: [email protected]
Phone: +49 176 41495195

A data protection officer is not legally required to be appointed.

2. Hosting and Server Log Files

The website is operated on a rented server located in Germany. When the website is accessed, the server automatically collects information transmitted by your browser:

  • IP address of the requesting device
  • Date and time of access
  • Address accessed and volume of data transferred
  • Referrer URL and browser used (user agent)

This data is required for the technical operation, stability and security of the service. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in trouble-free and secure operation). The data is not merged with other data sources. Log files are deleted after 14 days at the latest.

3. Images and Embedded Content

All images displayed on this website are delivered from our own server. No hotlinking to external servers takes place, so simply viewing a page does not establish a connection to third parties.

Videos (e.g. YouTube) are not loaded automatically. Instead, only a preview is initially displayed in place of the video. Only when you actively click on it is a connection established to YouTube (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) and your IP address transmitted there. The legal basis in this case is your consent given by the click, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. We use the domain youtube-nocookie.com for this purpose.

4. Storage on Your Device

We do not use tracking cookies and no audience measurement.

Only your selection of the light or dark colour scheme is stored, in the local storage (localStorage) of your browser. This storage is strictly necessary for the function you requested (§ 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG); no personal data is transmitted to us in the process. You can delete the entry at any time via your browser settings.

An additional session cookie is set exclusively for the editorial administration area and does not affect ordinary visitors.

5. Newsletter

We use the service Brevo (Brevo GmbH, Köpenicker Straße 126, 10179 Berlin) to send our newsletter. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with Brevo.

Registration takes place using the double opt-in procedure: after you sign up, you receive an e-mail asking you to confirm your registration. Only after that do you receive the newsletter. The following data is processed:

  • Your e-mail address
  • The topics you selected and the desired frequency
  • The wording of the consent, IP address and time of registration and confirmation

The last-mentioned information serves solely as proof of your consent. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. You may withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future — via the unsubscribe link at the end of every e-mail or informally at [email protected]. After withdrawal, your data for the newsletter will be deleted; proof of the original consent is retained until the expiry of possible limitation periods.

6. Contacting Us

If you contact us by e-mail or telephone, we process your details to handle the enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding) or Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where the enquiry relates to a contract. The data will be deleted as soon as the enquiry has been fully processed and no statutory retention obligations apply.

7. Encryption

This website uses TLS encryption throughout. You can recognise this from the address bar of your browser.

8. Your Rights

You have the right at any time to:

  • Access to the data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
  • Rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
  • Erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
  • Restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
  • Data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
  • Objection to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR)
  • Withdrawal of consent given, with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR)

To exercise these rights, please contact [email protected].

Independently of this, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The competent authority for our registered office is:

The State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information
Baden-Württemberg
Lautenschlagerstraße 20, 70173 Stuttgart
