The TV anime Wound & Bandage (Kizuguchi to Houtai) expands its Japanese voice cast: Yuka Iguchi takes on the role of Magical Penpengusa, and Yoko Hikasa voices Matsudaemon. The two characters belong to the online community "Bandage Alliance," which is presented in the third theme visual and a new teaser. The Japanese broadcast start has been announced for January 9, 2027.

New characters from the Bandage Alliance

The new announcement from October 30 focuses on the members of an internet community whose interests overlap with those of the main character Riyo Washizu. Riyo refers to people as "Yowara," who are drawn to moments in which otherwise confident, strong people appear vulnerable. Within the group she herself uses the username Wanpu Samurai.

Magical Penpengusa is voiced by Yuka Iguchi, while Yoko Hikasa portrays Matsudaemon. In their published comments, both talk about the humorous atmosphere during the voice recordings. Despite her appearance, Hikasa describes her character as sensitive and quick to tear up.

The third teaser is titled "Nakama" ("Companions") and introduces the characters' shared dynamic. The video comes from the official ABC Animation Channel and was published via the website of the anime production studio.

January premiere at J.C.STAFF

The manga by Umihoshi Nanai tells the story of Go Kiritani, a young yakuza member tasked with looking after Riyo, the daughter of the gang boss. Her unusual fondness for the vulnerable sides of supposedly strong people shapes the comedic relationship between the two.

Miyuki Ishida directs the television adaptation, and Susumu Yamakawa writes the scripts. Natsuki Oyama is responsible for character design; the animation is produced by J.C.STAFF. Hisako Kanemoto voices Riyo and Chikahiro Kobayashi voices Kiritani. Shoya Ishige is also part of the cast.

For November 6, 2026, the production announces a complete PV and a new key visual. The voices of the already introduced characters are also expected to be heard for the first time. No information on a German streaming license is available so far.

Among the other anime projects announced for 2027 are the vampire romantic comedy Hiiragi-san Chi no Kyuketsu Jijou, Fall in Love, You False Angels, and Haru to Gen.
