VRChat at TGS 2026: Miku, Kizuna AI, and Anime Worlds
VRChat makes its first appearance at the Tokyo Game Show, bringing virtual worlds together with several anime and VTuber programs.
VRChat is exhibiting at the Tokyo Game Show for the first time and, from September 19 to 21, 2026, will bring Hatsune Miku, Kizuna AI, and several anime projects to the stage, among others. The Tokyo Game Show itself runs from September 17 to 21 at Makuhari Messe; KAI-YOU published the current schedule for the public days on September 14.
The VRChat booth is located in Hall 8. On September 19 and 20, an official VR greeting with Hatsune Miku from the "Yozora Program 2026" is planned there. According to KAI-YOU, participants put on a VR headset on site and meet the Miku designed for the project in the virtual world. Participation takes place via numbered tickets issued on site.
Anime Projects Meet VRChat
From September 19 to 21, VRChat will also again show the live performance from Chou Kaguya-hime!, which was previously seen at the Sanrio Virtual Festival 2026. The film has recently been the subject of coverage on aninew.de because of its cinema return from September 18.
On September 20, further programs on anime worlds will follow in VRChat. The currently running virtual exhibition on My Hero Academia will be presented, as well as an official world for Love Live! Sunshine!!. The free My Hero Academia exhibition in VRChat remains accessible until September 27. Love Live! Sunshine!! focuses, among other things, on the virtual recreation of the Numazu Civic Cultural Center.
Kizuna AI and Ponpoko on September 21
On September 21, the VTuber Koga-ryu Ninja! Ponpoko will appear at the booth in her mascot figure from 11 a.m. and guide visitors through various VRChat worlds. From 12 to 1 p.m., two world tour programs with the creator Tokoroba/105ro8 and Kizuna AI are scheduled afterward.
As early as September 19, Pixiv will also present a demo of the world "Avatar × Kisekae Tutorial," developed together with VRChat. VRChat and Pixiv had announced a capital and business alliance on September 9. The trade show presence thus bundles not only individual fan events but also several current collaborations between VRChat, anime IPs, VTubers, and creative platforms.
