SSS-Class Revival Hunter: Anime Set to Premiere in January 2027
STUDIO fu is adapting the Korean web novel and SMARTOON; Crunchyroll confirms the simulcast in Europe.

"SSS-Class Revival Hunter" is being adapted as a TV anime and will premiere in January 2027; Crunchyroll confirms the series will also air in Europe. A teaser PV and a first visual were released with the announcement.
STUDIO fu Takes On the Anime Production
Hiroaki Sakurai is directing, while Takahiro Yoshimatsu is responsible for the character design. The animation is being produced by STUDIO fu. Takeo Otsuka as Kim Gongja and Satoshi Hino as Sword Emperor are the first members of the Japanese voice cast to be confirmed.
The source material comes from Korea. The starting point is the web novel by Sinnoa, which was later turned into a vertically read webcomic, or SMARTOON. In Japan, the comic version has been running on Piccoma since 2022. The international version is known under the title "SSS-Class Revival Hunter."
A Deadly Ability Changes Gongja's Life
The story is set in a world where a mysterious tower full of monsters has appeared. Hunters enter it in search of fame and fortune. Kim Gongja begins as a weak F-rank hunter and looks enviously at the Flame Emperor, who stands at the top.
His situation changes when he receives a rare ability that lets him take over the powers of others. The catch: it only activates through his own death. At the same time, the Sword Emperor becomes his unusual companion. The released teaser focuses on this starting situation and the first encounter between the two central characters.
Crunchyroll explicitly names Europe as the streaming region for the January 2027 start. No exact premiere date, episode count, or runtime has been set in the information published so far. Other new anime projects have already been announced for the same starting month, including "Seishun no Yarinaoshi wa Isekai de" and the TV anime adaptation of "The Guy She Was Interested in Wasn't a Guy at All".
