Seishun no Yarinaoshi: TV premiere confirmed for January 2027

Renta!'s original "Seishun no Yarinaoshi wa Isekai de" premieres as an Anicomi on TOKYO MX in January 2027. Anime!Anime! reports on the TV broadcast of the Boys Love title; Papyless also confirms a key visual, a teaser PV and the cast of the two lead roles.

Tomohito Takatsuka voices Makoto Fuwa, and Ryuichi Kijima takes on Thanatos. The further cast includes Akinori Egoshi as Metatron, Sohei Horigane as Belphegor, Yohei Matsuoka as Toutetsu and Kengo Kawanishi as Uriel.

Papyless describes "Anicomi" as a proprietary motion comic format that extends manga images with movement and voices. It is therefore not a classic TV anime production. According to the company, generative AI is additionally used for some shots in this adaptation. Papyless explains that the generated material is used with the permission of the rights holders and is then processed further, including through drawing corrections, compositing and editing.

A second school visit in another world

The source is by Haru Takizawa, and the manga adaptation is by Taiyo no Taiyo MANGA SHOKUNIN STUDIO. At the center is 26-year-old Makoto Fuwa, who, after distressing experiences in his youth, unexpectedly gets the chance to attend high school once more. The school, however, is a boarding school for non-human beings. There he meets the death god Thanatos, who by no means threatens Makoto but is almost obsessed with him.

Keita Ando directs. Douraku is responsible for the animation, with Digital Shokunin supporting the drawings. Takahiro Enomoto handles sound direction, and the project is produced under RentAnime.

The use of generative AI is also a conspicuous part of the announcement, since questions of authorship and image use have repeatedly been debated in Japan's creative scene recently. On aninew.de, for example, there was already coverage of the apology from LEON代表 after the AI use of an illustration. For January 2027, the anime adaptation of "The Guy She Was Interested in Wasn't a Guy at All" is also announced.

For Germany, the current announcement names neither a TV nor a streaming partner. A specific broadcast date within January 2027 has also not yet been mentioned.
