PROJECT NANAIRO: Brave group expands Suzumia to seven

Three more VTubers are being sought by the end of December; the new project is scheduled to launch in spring 2027.

Brave group is expanding the VTuber unit Suzumia into the seven-member project PROJECT NANAIRO, which is set to launch in spring 2027. The two existing members, Nanoha Suzu and Akairo Mia, will remain part of it. For three further places, the Japanese company opened a new casting call on October 28, 2026.

From two to seven VTubers

Suzumia debuted on December 5, 2025, with Nanoha Suzu (七乃羽すず) and Akairo Mia (赤彩みあ). According to Brave group, their YouTube channels together passed the 130,000 subscriber mark at the end of March 2026. In February, the unit had already organized one-on-one talks with fans and the sale of its own merchandise.

The expansion is taking place in two steps: two additional members have already been confirmed from an earlier Suzumia audition, though the announcement does not name them. Three more VTubers are now being sought. This brings the total planned membership of PROJECT NANAIRO to seven. The three open places are assigned to the member colors yellow, pink and purple.

Brave group describes the new project as a virtual girl group that combines music, original formats, videos and livestreams. A precise debut date in spring 2027 or details about the first joint program are not yet known.

Applications possible until December 25

The official application period runs from October 28 to December 25, 2026, in each case according to Japan time; the deadline is 11 p.m. JST. Women aged 18 and older who live in Japan, speak Japanese at a native level and can take part in the project over the long term may apply.

Prior experience as a YouTuber, singer or voice actor is not required. The selection process initially includes documents and a video, followed by online interviews, a further communication test and a final personal interview. Brave group makes clear that the project is not exclusively about livestreams but also involves creative work and musical activities.

The announcement follows further changes in the Japanese VTuber market. Hololive recently presented four talents in a new unit; a strategy shift at Hololive likewise focuses on groups rather than continuously numbered generations. Brave group is also involved in the Xross Stars trading card game. For PROJECT NANAIRO, the immediate task now is filling the three remaining places.
