Pole Princess!!: New Anime Hits Cinemas in January 2027
The roughly 60-minute CG production combines five songs with a new story and introduces Ruchika Himeori.
The Japanese cinema release of Pole Princess!! – Croix du Nord is now confirmed: the new CG anime project will be shown in six Japanese cinemas for two weeks, starting January 29, 2027. Producer Avex Pictures gives a running time of roughly 60 minutes and introduces a new character, Ruchika Himeori.
Five Songs Get a New Anime Story
The new production combines five pieces from the Shining Pole Song Album, released on February 18, 2026, with a new storyline. It picks up after the Pole Dance Japan Cup: the four members of Galaxy Princess pursue further performances and work on new forms of pole dance. Then they receive an invitation from Yukari Mikoshi, the top performer of Aile d'Ange. Galaxy Princess is set to appear as guests at an event held by the other group.
As the two ensembles get to know each other better, an unknown young woman appears at the Azumi studio. She is called Ruchika Himeori and seems to have a connection to Azumi. Avex has released a character illustration of her based on a design by Tomari. The announcement does not give further details about her role.
Six Cinemas and a Familiar Production Team
The two-week run takes place in Sapporo, Shinjuku, Yokohama, Nagoya, Osaka, and Fukuoka. According to the publisher, this is a special event screening; no advance sales are planned. A German cinema release or an international streaming date has not yet been announced.
Hitomi Ezoe returns as director. Toko Machida writes the script, Yoshihiro Otobe is in charge of CG direction, and Kotono Sakurai handles the anime character design. The production is by Tatsunoko Production, and the music is by Kenta Higashiohji. The returning Japanese cast includes Rio Tsuchiya, Anna Suzuki, Yui Ogura, and Minami Hinata, among others.
Pole Princess!! began as an anime project about a group of young pole dance performers and already received a theatrical film in 2023. The new project is therefore another standalone release featuring the ensemble.
Other music-driven anime projects have recently been announced as well, including the new Macross Delta music project and the Idolmaster SideM cinema event. The anniversary release of Yuri!!! on ICE also belongs to the current releases centered on performance anime.
