THE IDOLM@STER SideM brings F@NTASTIC BATTLE FES ~Who goes first~ to Japanese cinemas as a theatrical version on November 20, 2026. The film gathers eight units with a total of 25 idols and carries the Battle Fes concept of the shows held in 2025 onto the big screen.

The cinema version draws on the performances of 315 Production presents F@NTASTIC BATTLE FES ~Who goes first~, held in Makuhari in October 2025 and in Osaka in November 2025. Taking part are DRAMATIC STARS, FRAME, Sai, High×Joker, Shinsoku Ikkon, THE Kogadou, F-LAGS and Legenders. Two Different Cinema Formats

For the launch, both regular screenings and so-called Cheer Screenings are planned in Japan. In the Cheer Screenings, audience members may, among other things, use glow sticks and fan goods, clap and loudly support the idols. The regular screenings, by contrast, are designed as classic cinema showings without such audience activities.

Bandai Namco Entertainment names Junrei Takanori of ManaMoA as director, Zenta Yamasaki as CG director, and Asuka Fujimoto as director of photography and editor. The production is handled by hotarubi and SIKAKU, and music production lies with Lantis. Distribution in Japan is handled by Shochiku ODS.

For SideM, the cinema announcement is part of a currently especially active phase for the franchise. Shortly before, the first SideM console game for Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch was announced. In early September, the series also introduced Koki Ino as the new voice of Kanon Himeno.

A cinema release outside Japan has not been announced so far. There is currently also no confirmed date or distribution partner for Germany.
