Pokémon Sleep: Poké Ball Hotel Coming to Hokkaido
The accommodation is accessible only to winners of a campaign; application details follow on September 15.
In September 2026, Pokémon Sleep will get a habitable Poké Ball hotel in Hokkaido. NOT A HOTEL has announced the collaboration with the sleep app and is building for it the structure called the "Poké Ball-Themed Hotel" at a location on the Japanese island that has not yet been specified.
The accommodation is not a regularly bookable hotel facility. According to the official announcement, it is a special campaign in which only selected winners can spend the night in the Poké Ball. During the promotional period, the building is reportedly not to be opened to the general public.
What the interior looks like and which amenities come with the overnight stay is not yet known. The complete presentation of the hotel, along with the application conditions, is to be published on September 15, 2026. NOT A HOTEL describes the concept as an attempt to transfer the idea of the Poké Ball as a comfortable retreat for Pokémon into a real sleeping and resting space for people.
Pokémon extends the brand further beyond the games
Pokémon Sleep launched in July 2023 and combines the well-known brand with recording and analyzing one's own sleep. The app uses sleep data to collect the different sleep styles of Pokémon. The new hotel campaign carries this basic motif for the first time into a purpose-built accommodation.
The Pokémon brand is also currently being expanded in several other areas. On aninew.de, recent coverage has included the animated film Pokémon: Wildcard, announced worldwide for 2027 and the Aardman series Pokémon Tales for Disney+. In the gaming sector, ZETA DIVISION also won the 2026 Pokémon UNITE World Championship.
The exact location of the Poké Ball hotel in Hokkaido remains secret for now. No information has yet been provided on the number of available overnight stays or the duration of the campaign.
