Masakazu Katsura: New Art Book "Positive Sensitive" Is Coming
The volume collects 120 motifs and picks up a motif that Katsura has been pursuing in his own illustrations for years.

Masakazu Katsura will release the art book "Positive Sensitive" in Japan on December 10, 2026, which focuses entirely on his depictions of the human buttocks created over the years. As reported by Oricon, the concept comprises a total of 120 motifs; alongside his own works, it also includes illustrations for which real models served as references.
The models named include cosplayers Enako and Moe Iori, as well as voice actress Mariya Ise. Over the past years, Katsura repeatedly published corresponding illustrations via his social channels. The new volume now bundles this material as a standalone publication and supplements it with further selected works.
From Manga Artist to Concept Art Book
Since the 1980s, Katsura has been one of the well-known names in shonen manga. His most important series include "Video Girl Ai", "I's" and "ZETMAN". Beyond classic manga series, he has also worked outside them: for "TIGER & BUNNY", he was involved in the original character and hero designs, among other things.
The art book thus stands less for a new series project than for a focused collection of a recurring artistic motif. Comparable publications appear on aninew.de mainly when they offer a broader insight into the work of individual artists. Recently, for example, Sheya's first art book in Japan appeared, while the UO10. retrospective by Uoto offers a different view of the creative process behind current manga work.
"Positive Sensitive" is being released by the Japanese publisher Genkosha. A German edition or licensing has not been announced so far.
