Hikari Meguri Matataite: Both Manga Volumes Release in Japan
Machi Yamashita's new love story about two former classmates launches directly as a completed two-volume release.

"Hikari Meguri Matataite" by Machi Yamashita was released in Japan on September 1, 2026, simultaneously as an upper and a lower volume. According to Nijimen, the manga, written and illustrated by Yorito Hashimura and Mitsuru Hasegawa, tells of two former classmates and close friends who meet again later. The release is conceived as a love story, and because both volumes launch at the same time, readers can immediately read it in full.
Several Japanese retailers tie the sales launch to different extras. Animate offers an eight-page booklet when both volumes are bought together. ComiComi Studio and Toranoana each provide acrylic stands as well as their own four-page leaflets for buyers of the set. Horin Love Books offers a social media card with a newly drawn color illustration, likewise with its own four-page leaflet.
The digital edition also receives additional material. When buying the lower volume, according to Nijimen, a specially drawn bonus manga is included. The e-book retailer honto also offers another social media card with an existing color illustration. The extras therefore vary depending on the retailer and the edition.
For the German-speaking market, the source currently names no license or publication. The report concerns only the Japanese sales launch for now.
The title joins several recent manga releases: aninew.de recently covered, among other things, the first collected volume of "Kenichi 2" as well as the end of "Mii-chan to Yamada-san" and its final seventh volume.
