Mii-chan to Yamada-san: Manga officially concludes
The final chapter was released on August 16; the seventh and final collected volume follows on September 9, 2026.

The manga "Mii-chan to Yamada-san" by Nene Azuki came to an end on August 16, 2026 with its 37th chapter. As Anime!Anime! reported, the author also confirmed the conclusion on her X account and published an illustration of Mii-chan and Yamada-san along with it.
The series ran on Kodansha's Magazine Pocket manga platform and tells of twelve months in the lives of two women in Kabukicho in 2012. Yamada works at a hostess club, where she meets the new colleague Mii-chan, who repeatedly clashes with the everyday work routine. The manga explores their relationship and the difficulties both face in their surroundings.
The ending had already been prepared: Kodansha is publishing volume 7 as the final collected volume. The regular edition will be released on September 9, 2026 with 208 pages. At the same time, a special edition featuring a newly drawn, 24-page full-color picture book by Nene Azuki is hitting stores.
Anime adaptation follows in 2027
With the end of the manga, the story is complete as a print series, but the franchise continues. An anime adaptation of "Mii-chan to Yamada-san" has been announced for 2027. A specific start date, the animation studio, and the episode count have not yet been determined.
Aninew has already reported on the planned production and the announced expert consultation for the anime adaptation. This is intended to support the team in portraying sensitive themes.
The seventh volume thus concludes the manga's storyline before the story is adapted as an anime for the first time next year.
