Go With the Clouds: Anime Streams Worldwide on Netflix in 2027
Tomohiro Ono voices private investigator Kei Miyama as Qzil.la animates the mystery series against Iceland's landscapes.
Go With the Clouds, North-by-Northwest premieres as a TV anime on Japanese broadcaster TBS in 2027 and will stream exclusively on Netflix worldwide. The production reveals a first key visual and a trailer. Tomohiro Ono has been confirmed as the voice of protagonist Kei Miyama.
A Private Investigator Travels Through Iceland
The anime is based on Aki Irie's manga Hokuhokusei ni Kumo to Yuke. At its center is 17-year-old Kei Miyama, who lives with his grandfather in Iceland. Kei has an unusual ability: he can talk with cars. At the same time he works as a private investigator and travels the island in his Suzuki Jimny.
His assignments include searching for a runaway dog and bringing two people back together. His investigations take him through Iceland's landscape, which also plays a central role in the first promotional video. The trailer shows Kei on a long road between mountains and wide plains. The new key visual likewise leans on the natural scenery and recalls the cover of the first manga volume.

Qzil.la Produces the TV Series
Takashi Sano is responsible for overall direction and series composition, while Yosuke Kubo directs. Chikashi Kubota handles character design. The animation is created at Qzil.la, specifically its production label Gram21. The label was presented with the announcement and traces back to the long-form animation division acquired in 2025.
The production company confirms these details in its official statement. There it reports a total manga circulation of over 1.6 million copies as of April 16, 2026. Apart from the lead voice, no further cast members have been announced so far.
Netflix Secures Worldwide Streaming
The streaming announcement generally includes the German-speaking region: Netflix plans worldwide exclusive distribution. However, no specific start month or language versions have been named yet. The title thus belongs to the anime premieres announced for 2027, alongside Nue's Exorcist and Phantom Busters.
Beyond these series, Netflix is also expanding its anime lineup, for example with the three Mononoke films in German. For Go With the Clouds, North-by-Northwest, it remains open for now which day in 2027 the first episode will arrive and how many episodes will be produced.
