Fullmetal Alchemist and Yomi no Tsugai Come to USJ in 2027
Two works by Hiromu Arakawa will receive their own programs at the Japanese theme park in spring 2027.

Universal Studios Japan is adding Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and Yomi no Tsugai to its "Universal Cool Japan 2027" program for spring 2027. The Osaka theme park announced on October 28 two time-limited experiences based on the anime adaptations of Hiromu Arakawa's manga.
Fullmetal Alchemist returns after 22 years
For Fullmetal Alchemist, this is the second collaboration with the Japanese theme park. Back in spring 2005, Universal Studios Japan held the "Fullmetal Alchemist Premiere Tour." According to the operator, it was also the park's first collaboration with a Japanese TV anime series. The return therefore takes place 22 years after the first program.
This time, the anime Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, broadcast from 2009 to 2010, forms the basis. The series centers on the brothers Edward and Alphonse Elric, who, after a forbidden attempt at human transmutation, search for a way to regain their lost bodies. The organizers announce a dedicated experience based on this world; how the attraction will be realized technically and spatially remains open.
Yomi no Tsugai debuts as a theme park experience

Yomi no Tsugai, known internationally as Daemons of the Shadow Realm, is for the first time the subject of a theme park collaboration. The story of the twins Yuru and Asa and the Tsugai they control thereby receives a further adaptation alongside the manga and anime.
The anime adaptation has been airing in Japan since spring 2026. A second season of Yomi no Tsugai has already been announced. The connection between the two works also lies in their shared creator, Hiromu Arakawa. On aninew.de, we recently reported on a joint anniversary exhibition for Fullmetal Alchemist and Yomi no Tsugai.
Five anime titles at Universal Cool Japan 2027
The entire event series begins on December 2, 2026. Alongside the two Arakawa titles, Sailor Moon, The Apothecary Diaries and Detective Conan are part of the lineup. A 4-D program is planned for Sailor Moon, while Conan will receive an escape game, among other offerings. Dedicated park offerings have been announced for The Apothecary Diaries.
For the two new collaborations, only the time window spring 2027 has been specified so far. Exact start and end dates, attraction formats, and food and merchandise offerings are to be announced later. The basis is the official announcement from Universal Studios Japan.
