Devils’ Crest premieres worldwide exclusively on Prime Video on November 6, 2026. The anime adaptation of Reki Kawahara's light novel series blends a virtual reality role-playing game with a dangerously altered reality. A second trailer shows more scenes and introduces Soala's ending song “ReaL.”

A Game World Changes Reality

The story centers on high school student Yuma Ashihara, who, together with his twin sister Sawa and classmates Kenji Kondo and Minagi Sano, tests the VRMMORPG “Actual Magic.” After a joint boss battle, the group is supposed to log out of the game. But Yuma returns to a world where the game and reality overlap. Monsters from the virtual environment become an immediate danger.

The source material comes from Reki Kawahara, the author of Sword Art Online and Accel World. His light novel series has been published in Japan by KADOKAWA under the Dengeki Bunko label since 2022. The new adaptation is being produced by Production I.G.

Second Trailer and the Music

The second PV, released on October 2, offers a deeper look at the altered game world. Ado sings the opening “Shinka”; Soala is responsible for the ending “ReaL.” The current trailer is embedded on the production's official website.

This video will only connect to YouTube once you play it.

Ado was recently also the topic on aninew.de with the manga music video for “Monstro” from the Blue Lock circle. With Devils’ Crest she now contributes the opening of an anime series.

Studio and Cast

Kenichiro Komaya directs, while Shinji Ushiro is involved as chief director. Eiji Umehara is in charge of series composition. Character design is handled by Yukiko Horiguchi, who also illustrated the original novels. Yuki Hayashi and Naoyuki Chikatani compose the music.

Haruka Shiraishi voices Yuma and Konomi Inagaki voices his sister Sawa. Yuya Hirose takes on Kenji Kondo, and Satomi Amano voices Minagi Sano. In October, Atsushi Tamaru was also confirmed as Shin Haizaki and Ayumu Murase as Kakeru Niki.

Prime Video has announced the worldwide exclusive release for November 6. This means the series will also be available on the streaming service for German-speaking audiences. The service already featured a comparable premiere of an anime production on Prime Video in September.
