An official manga MV for "Blue Lock" has been released alongside Ado's "Monstro." The video blends illustrations from the manga by Yusuke Nomura with newly recorded voice lines by Fumiya Takahashi, who plays Yoichi Isagi in the Japanese live-action film.

Nijimen reports that the special MV was released via Kodansha's official Magazine Channel. "Monstro" is the theme song of the live-action film for "Blue Lock", which opened in Japan on August 7, 2026. Giga and TeddyLoid handled composition and arrangement, the lyrics come from ryo of supercell, and Ado provides the vocals.

This video will only connect to YouTube once you play it.

Manga artwork meets the film version

The video draws on panels from the original manga and adds the newly voiced lines by Takahashi. In doing so, Kodansha directly links the manga source material with the current live-action adaptation, without placing scenes from the film itself at the centre.

The cinema film had already passed the one billion yen mark in Japan on August 25. The editorial team of Weekly Shonen Magazine reported box office earnings of 1.2 billion yen in early September. Since September 12, three different double-sided illustration cards newly drawn by Yusuke Nomura have also been handed out at random as visitor bonuses in participating Japanese cinemas.

aninew.de had already placed the cinema success in context when the first billion-yen milestone was reached: "Blue Lock: Live-action film passes one billion yen".

The manga by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yusuke Nomura remains the basis of the series. The new MV is therefore primarily an accompanying release for the ongoing Japanese cinema run and not an announcement of a new anime project.
