BELLE: LAYRA Releases Debut Song “Watashi wa LAYRA”
TeddyLoid and Ryota Saito write the song for the immersive project, which is set five years after the film.

LAYRA, from the “BELLE” spin-off “Ryu to Sobakasu no Hime - PROJECT LAYRA -”, releases her debut song “Watashi wa LAYRA” on September 16, 2026. The track belongs to the upcoming immersive live project, which is set five years after Mamoru Hosoda's anime film.
As Mynavi News reports, TeddyLoid and Ryota Saito produce the song. Within the storyline, “Watashi wa LAYRA” serves as the opening theme of the music festival “Utopia.” A music video is set to appear on September 16 at 6 p.m. Japan time, combining film footage from “BELLE” with 3DCG. A verified official YouTube upload was not yet available at the time of publication.
Five singers embody LAYRA
For the project, LAYRA does not exist as a single real singer. miwa, Natsumi Kon, Konomi Suzuki, Maria Miki and ASCA alternately portray the virtual artist as well as her real-world counterpart Kotomi. The official project page also lists Lilas Ikuta again as Hiro-chan and Tomoyo Kurosawa as the autonomous AI Puck.
The story begins five years after the events of “BELLE.” Hiro-chan discovers LAYRA in the virtual world , takes over her production and builds the music festival “Utopia” around her. The character thus belongs directly to the expanded world of the film rather than to an independent music project.
Immersive continuation from October
“Ryu to Sobakasu no Hime - PROJECT LAYRA -” runs from October 10 to November 15, 2026 at MoN Takanawa in Tokyo. The production combines animation, music, 3DCG and stage performance. TeddyLoid is also the project's music director, while Mika Pikazo and Nike Shimoguchi are involved in the character design.
Anime music and virtual artists also appear on aninew.de in other contexts, such as the KAMITSUBAKI audition for virtual and real artists, VRChat at the Tokyo Game Show 2026 and the Pokémon music video with Masayoshi Oishi.
