THINKR: KAMITSUBAKI launches cross-studio audition
The application period runs from October 5 to December 8, 2026 and includes separate categories for virtual and real artists.
THINKR is holding its first cross-studio audition for virtual and real artists together with KAMITSUBAKI STUDIO and three other company divisions. The "THINKR AUDITION 2026" accepts applications from October 5 to December 8, 2026.
The selection is divided into two separate categories. KAMITSUBAKI STUDIO leads the category for virtual artists, while ALLT STUDIO, together with the newly structured KYOKAI STUDIO and UNKNOWN LAB, oversees the category for real artists. Applying for both categories at the same time is not intended.
There are no age or gender restrictions for participation. Applicants must live in Japan; nationality does not matter. A further requirement is that the applicant has no exclusive contract with a production company or record label. Minors require the consent of their legal guardians.
Four divisions decide together
Members of all four divisions take part in the selection. This includes PIEDPIPER, who is named as lead producer of KAMITSUBAKI STUDIO. THINKR offers successful participants support in music production and training, among other things. The company intends to publish further details about the application through the audition's official account.
KAMITSUBAKI STUDIO has previously held three of its own auditions. The new edition follows THINKR's recent reorganization: KAMITSUBAKI now focuses on virtual artists, while KYOKAI STUDIO has been built up for real artists and creatives. UNKNOWN LAB works as a research and development division on new projects; ALLT STUDIO remains focused on internet-shaped music and artist production.
The reorganization shows that THINKR no longer organizes the search for new talent through KAMITSUBAKI alone, but brings several business divisions together. Comparable changes within the VTuber and virtual music industry were recently also the subject of coverage on Sony Music and the end of the VTuber project VEE. In the adjacent music field, aninew.de also reports on the current Hatsune Miku collaboration "Light" by BEYOND BORDERs.
