Ascendance of a Bookworm: New Anime from WIT Studio
The continuation adapts Rozemyne’s training at the Royal Academy. No premiere date has been announced yet.

Ascendance of a Bookworm is getting another TV anime continuation. The new story arc is titled Royal Academy’s Self-Proclaimed Library Committee and picks up Rozemyne’s story after Adopted Daughter of an Archduke. WIT Studio is once again handling the animation, as publisher TO Books confirmed on October 3, 2026.
Rozemyne begins her training at the Royal Academy
The continuation adapts the fourth part of Miya Kazuki’s light novel series. After roughly two years of sleep, Rozemyne wakes in a world that has changed during her absence. Shortly afterward, she enters the Royal Academy, a training institution for nobles.
There, students learn, among other things, how to use magic, craft magical items and administer territories. For Rozemyne, however, the academy’s great library becomes the most important discovery. Her enthusiasm for books once again distracts her from social expectations and the duties of her position.
The official announcement on the anime website shows a visual featuring Rozemyne, a book and the two rabbits from the story.
WIT Studio continues the adaptation
WIT Studio was already responsible for the series Ascendance of a Bookworm: Adopted Daughter of an Archduke, which aired in 2026. It ran from April in two consecutive cours and ended on October 3, 2026. In the finale, Rozemyne sets off for the academy, which directly prepares the story for the new continuation.
The earlier production was directed by Yoshiaki Iwasaki, with series scripts by Mariko Kunisawa. For the newly announced story arc, however, these positions have not yet been confirmed again. Other anime works by WIT Studio include Shin Samurai-den YAIBA.
Release date still open
TO Books cites a circulation of more than 14 million copies for the entire Ascendance of a Bookworm series, including digital editions. In Japan, the fourth part comprises nine light novel volumes. A new TV adaptation is therefore confirmed, but no release year, episode count or new cast list has been published yet.
The previous season is available in Germany on Crunchyroll. No streaming license has yet been confirmed for the next story arc. Other light novel adaptations are also in preparation, including King’s Proposal and Devils’ Crest.
