THE IDOLM@STER: Chihaya sings in McDonald’s web CM
The animated spot for the Tsukimi campaign features Chihaya Kisaragi alongside Ima dake Tsukimi Tabemi.

Chihaya Kisaragi from THE IDOLM@STER appears in a new animated web CM from McDonald’s Japan and sings the campaign song “今度いつきみに会えるのかな” in it. The spot is part of this year’s Tsukimi burger campaign and was released on September 24, 2026.
In the video, Chihaya sits beneath the night sky together with McDonald’s campaign figure Ima dake Tsukimi Tabemi and eats a Tsukimi burger. Chihaya performs a cover version of the song, which was already written for the advertising figure in 2025. According to KAI-YOU, the new spot also promotes the product “Hokkaido-san Jaga Pepper Tsukimi,” which launched on the same day.
This video will only connect to YouTube once you play it.
The official THE IDOLM@STER site confirms the collaboration and refers directly to McDonald’s Japan’s official social media channels for the web CM, including the company’s YouTube channel. Chihaya has been voiced by Asami Imai since the original arcade game and is positioned within the series especially as a singer.
Chihaya increasingly appears beyond the games
The commercial continues a series of appearances in which the character is used like a real artist. KAI-YOU points, among other things, to Chihaya’s appearance on THE FIRST TAKE in November 2025 and her solo concert “Oath ONE” at Nippon Budokan in January 2026.
Other parts of the franchise are also currently being expanded beyond classic games. aninew has already reported on the THE IDOLM@STER SideM cinema project F@NTASTIC BATTLE FES. In addition, the first SideM console game for Nintendo Switch 2 was recently announced.
No standalone anime production has been announced for the McDonald’s spot; it is an animated advertising film within the Tsukimi campaign.
