serial experiments lain: All 13 Episodes Coming to Cinemas
SEVESKIG pairs the special screenings in Ikebukuro with a free exhibition in Harajuku.

"serial experiments lain" returns to the big screen in September 2026 for a complete special screening of all 13 TV episodes. The screenings run from September 2 to 9 at Ikebukuro HUMAX Cinemas in Tokyo and are part of the "let's all love lain" collaboration between the anime and the Japanese fashion label SEVESKIG.
As Anime!Anime! reports, the series will be shown in Cinema 3, which seats around 300. On weekdays, the 13 episodes are spread across three evenings: on September 2, episodes 1 to 4; on September 3, episodes 5 to 8; and on September 4, episodes 9 to 13. The same schedule is repeated from September 7 to 9. On the weekend, there are two longer blocks: episodes 1 to 7 on September 5 and episodes 8 to 13 on September 6.
Tickets cost 2,000 yen per screening on weekdays and 3,000 yen on weekends. SEVESKIG's official site lists the cinema screenings as one of two parts of the project.
Harajuku Exhibition Accompanies the Screenings
In parallel, the free POP-UP exhibition "let's all love lain" takes place on the fifth floor of Laforet Harajuku from September 2 to 8. On display are a SEVESKIG-curated interpretation of the visual world of "serial experiments lain" as well as the accompanying collaboration pieces. Anime!Anime! mentions, among other items, T-shirts, a cardigan, posters, acrylic charms and a made-to-order jacquard blanket.
Visitors to both venues also get a joint promotion: the first 500 people who visit both the exhibition and the sales area at Ikebukuro HUMAX Cinemas and scan the QR codes there will receive a randomly selected button from eight designs.
"serial experiments lain" was released in 1998 as a media mix of TV anime, a magazine project and a video game. The series explores the boundary between the real world and the networked "Wired" and comprises 13 episodes.
Other current anime exhibitions include the free My Hero Academia exhibition in VRChat and the Yoshiyuki Tomino exhibition in Odawara.
