Sakamoto Days: Season 2 Premieres January 2027 on Netflix

Sakamoto Days returns to Netflix in January 2027 with a second anime season. The continuation of Yuto Suzuki's manga adaptation is again being produced by TMS Entertainment. Netflix has released a new teaser that introduces the infiltration of the assassin academy JCC and additional characters.

Sakamoto and Shin Investigate at the JCC

Taro Sakamoto was once a feared hitman before he withdrew from the business and opened a shop. In the new season, he pursues the trail of the mysterious X, also known as Slur, together with Shin Asakura. To do so, the two infiltrate the JCC, a training institution for aspiring assassins.

While Shin gathers information as a student, Sakamoto appears under an unusual disguise. In the teaser he is seen as a teacher who passes himself off as his wife Aoi. The preview also introduces Natsuki Seba and Akira Akao, as well as new characters such as Amane, Satota and Yotsumura.

Meanwhile, Nagumo, Shishiba and Osaragi receive an assignment from the organization ORDER in Kyoto. According to the official synopsis, they run into an ambush there. The events are also meant to shed light on the shared past of Sakamoto, Nagumo, Rion and Slur.

New Directing Team at TMS Entertainment

Daisuke Nakajima takes over direction for Season 2. Masaki Watanabe, who directed the first season, remains involved as chief director. Taku Kishimoto continues to handle series composition; the character design comes from Yo Moriyama. Yuki Hayashi contributes the music.

In the original Japanese version, Tomokazu Sugita again voices Sakamoto and Nobunaga Shimazaki voices Shin. The source manga has been running in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump since 2020. The already released first season is available on Netflix.

Teaser and January 2027 Start

Netflix announced the premiere month in June and presented further scenes at Anime NYC in August. The official teaser shows the characters and their new missions. A specific release date within January has not yet been set in the announcements available.

With this, Netflix continues its manga adaptations into 2027. For February, the THE ONE PIECE remake produced by WIT STUDIO is already announced. Another upcoming anime adaptation on Netflix is Fool Night, which is set to premiere as early as November 2026.
