Fool Night: All episodes from November 26, 2026 on Netflix
Sunrise and Shaft are adapting Kasumi Yasuda's dystopian manga. The second official teaser features Toshiro Kamiya and other characters.

Fool Night arrives exclusively on Netflix worldwide on November 26, 2026. The streaming service will release all episodes of the manga adaptation on the same day. The anime series is the first joint production of Sunrise and Shaft; a second official teaser was released alongside the premiere date announcement.
Humans Turn Into Plants
The source material comes from Kasumi Yasuda and is published by Shogakukan in the magazine Big Comic Superior. The story is set on an Earth that has been covered by dense clouds for a century. Because sunlight is missing, most plants have died. To obtain enough oxygen, humanity has developed a process in which dying people are transformed into plants.
The young Toshiro Kamiya lives in poverty. He works to pay taxes, living costs and his mother's medication. Eventually he himself considers the so-called "Transfloration." With this, the series connects its dystopian future world with the question of what value human life holds under such conditions.
The second teaser video shows Toshiro and Yomiko Horai, as well as other characters and violent confrontations. The trailer was published by those responsible via the official anime website.
This video will only connect to YouTube once you play it.
Sunrise and Shaft Handle the Animation
Atsushi Yukawa directs, Jin Tanaka is in charge of series composition, and Robert Sato handles character designs. The music is composed by Tatsuya Kato. Sunrise and Shaft are working together on animation for the first time. Shaft is also producing the announced TV anime August 31st Long Summer.
Koki Uchiyama voices Toshiro Kamiya, and Minako Kotobuki takes on Yomiko Horai. The further cast includes Junya Enoki as Akira Yatsuka, Aya Endo as Saeko Kanaeno and Kiyomitsu Mizuuchi as Jin Hiragishi. The three additional voice actors were presented at Anime NYC in August.
Netflix Releases the Entire Series at Once
According to the official announcement, November 26, 2026 is the date for the worldwide Netflix launch. A weekly release is not planned; all episodes are to be available simultaneously. The sources have not yet stated a definitive episode count.
With this, Fool Night adds to the service's upcoming anime lineup. Also announced for Netflix are, among others, Go With the Clouds and Kokumin Quiz. The official Netflix title page already lists Fool Night as an anime series.
