Odebu Akujo: New Visual Shows the Characters as Children
Kotoko's fantasy story gets an anime adaptation that starts in January 2027 on several Japanese TV stations.

The TV anime Odebu Akujo ni Tensei Shitara, Nazeka Rasubosu Oujisama ni Shuuchaku Sarete Imasu has received a new visual showing the main characters in their childhood. The series will begin airing on Japanese television in January 2027. The production company Infinite unveiled the illustration on October 30.
New Visual Echoes the First Key Visual
The image centers on the young Celine, surrounded by three other characters. The arrangement matches the first key visual already released, which shows the characters at a later stage of their lives. With this, the production makes clear that their relationships already play a role in childhood.
The story also begins during this period: after her death, Celine is reincarnated as the unpopular, overweight villainess of a novel. In the original course of the story, she faces a violent end at the hands of a prince. She therefore tries to change her behavior and live a quiet life. Instead, she becomes entangled in relationships marked by unexpected affection and growing obsession.
Cast, Studio and Japanese Premiere
Haruka Shiraishi voices Celine, and Takeo Otsuka voices Wilfred. Shunichi Toki is heard as Louis, Fuka Izumi as Adele. Naoyuki Kuzuya directs; Mitsutaka Hirota handles series composition and scripts. The animation is produced by Studio Rings.
In Japan, broadcast from January 2027 is planned on TOKYO MX, BS Nippon TV, AT-X and CBC TV, among others. The streaming service d Anime Store has also announced the series. No date or streaming provider for Germany has been named so far.
The already released first promotional trailer shows excerpts from the story. The official anime website continues to feature it in its video overview:
This video will only connect to YouTube once you play it.
The source material is by Kotoko, with artwork for the vertically read comic version by Kaname Hanamiya. According to the production announcement, this is running in its second release phase. Further fantasy adaptations announced for 2027 are Though I Am an Inept Villainess and Kaketa Tsuki no Mercedes.
