Volume 48 of "New Prince of Tennis" goes on sale in Japan on September 4, 2026, and forms the conclusion of Takeshi Konomi's manga continuation, which has run since 2009. The final chapter had already appeared on August 4 in the September issue of "Jump SQ."; with the collected volume, the finale is now also available as a regular book edition.

As Anime!Anime! reports, Animate is accompanying the release from September 4 to 30 with a farewell campaign at its Japanese stores and in its online shop. When purchasing selected titles, customers receive one of six double-sided visual boards featuring scenes from the manga. Time-limited decorations for the series are additionally planned at the Animate stores in Ikebukuro and Umeda.

27 Years of Prince of Tennis

"New Prince of Tennis" debuted in "Jump SQ." in 2009 as a continuation of "The Prince of Tennis." The original series ran in "Weekly Shonen Jump" from 1999 and ended in 2008. Volume 48 thus closes a manga story that spans a total of 27 years.

The actual series finale had already been published in early August. The relevant "Jump SQ." issue was increased to 165 percent of its originally planned print run due to demand. The collected volume now announced is the final physical release of this continuation.

The franchise remains active beyond this. In addition to anime productions, older games have recently been re-released. The re-release of the two dating adventures "Gakupuri" and "Dokisaba" is already available.

The Japanese report does not give a date for a German edition of Volume 48. The announced Animate campaign refers to Japan.
