MURCIÉLAGO: Teaser Shows Kuroko, Hinako and the Main Cast
Satelight and Staple Entertainment are animating the manga adaptation by Kana Yoshimura, which is published in Germany by Carlsen.

The TV anime adaptation of MURCIÉLAGO reveals the voices of its three main characters for the first time in a new teaser. Hitomi Ueda voices Kuroko Koumori, Minori Suzuki takes on Hinako Tozakura, and Sumire Uesaka can be heard as Chiyo Yanaoka. The series will air on Japanese television in January 2027.
The production team released the new visual material and cast on October 21, 2026. The key visual combines a nighttime cityscape with a reddish-lit one: Kuroko points a pistol forward, Chiyo carries a sword, and Hinako is shown on a bicycle. The teaser also includes short clips from the anime.
Three Lead Roles and a New Teaser
Kuroko is a former death-row inmate who acts on the state's behalf against particularly dangerous criminals. Her partner Hinako supervises her and has exceptional driving skills. Chiyo is Kuroko's friend and the daughter of a yakuza boss. The three characters are at the center of the released teaser, in which their Japanese voices are presented for the first time.

Takashi Naoya works on the adaptation as Chief Director and series composer. Matsuo Asami directs, and Kiyoshi Tateishi designs the characters. The animation is handled jointly by the studios Satelight and Staple Entertainment. Broadcast is planned on TOKYO MX, Kansai TV and BS11. No German streaming provider has been announced so far.
Manga Released in German by Carlsen
The source is the manga by Kana Yoshimura, which has been serialized since 2013 in Square Enix's magazine Young Gangan. The publisher puts the series' worldwide circulation at more than 2.3 million copies. The manga is also available in Germany: Carlsen Manga publishes the series under the title Murciélago. Unlike many anime source works not yet localized, German-speaking readers can therefore get to know the story before the series premieres.
Other manga adaptations slated for early 2027 have also recently received new video material: two voice actresses were confirmed for Wound & Bandage, while Akane-banashi introduces its second season with a new teaser. MURCIÉLAGO, by contrast, relies on a considerably more violent crime story with two unusual investigators.
