The KonoSuba exhibition marking the tenth anniversary of the TV anime is receiving a new short story from original author Natsume Akatsuki as a visitor bonus. "KonoSuba! Cheerful" runs from October 12 to 31, 2026 at AKIBA_SQUARE in Akihabara and presents the anime's story so far across a total of eleven exhibition areas.

Anime!Anime! reports that during the first half of the event period, visitors receive the newly written short story "Kaeru Steak ni Wine wo Soete" by Natsume Akatsuki as an entry bonus. For the second half, one of four randomly distributed mini shikishi featuring new illustrations by Kurone Mishima is planned instead. Both bonus giveaways are available only while supplies last.

Eleven Areas Look Back on Ten Years of Anime

The exhibition guides visitors through areas that recreate motifs from the series and present production materials. These include a section on isekai reincarnation, a guild area, character and story areas, and an interactive zone centered on Megumin's explosion magic. Anime!Anime! has also published first images of these areas and the complete floor plan.

The official anniversary page confirms the venue, AKIBA_SQUARE on the second floor of Akihabara UDX, and the run from October 12 to 31. On weekends and public holidays, fixed time slots apply, while on weekdays entry is tied to the date.

For KonoSuba, the exhibition is part of a larger anniversary year. aninew.de recently covered the new game for which Machico sings the song "WOOHOO!". A similar look back at ten years of anime is currently also on view at Re-Zero with original material and recreated sets.

The new short story thus makes the KonoSuba exhibition relevant beyond a mere retrospective: alongside production materials and immersive areas, new material is created directly by the author of the light novel.
