Kaiju Decode: New Trailer Shows Monster Film for 2027

Kaiju Decode: The Ring of Aidara receives a new trailer and another key visual. Producers Tsuburaya Productions and Toei Animation released scenes featuring the voices of the two main characters for the first time on October 18, 2026. The anime film is set to premiere in 2027.
Maru and Coco Pursue Opposing Goals
The story centers on the young Maru and the girl Coco. The plot takes place in a future where, after a catastrophe, alien microorganisms reached Earth and new, dangerous life forms emerged. In the technologically advanced City, Maru makes a living hunting such creatures. Coco, by contrast, belongs to the Aidara people and lives in the dangerous Zone. She does not want to fight the monsters but to live alongside them.
The trailer contrasts these differing perspectives. It shows the characters in motion, battles against kaiju, and Maru's use of a special ring. Aya Yamane voices Maru, and Karin Takahashi voices Coco. Both voices can be heard for the first time in the new preview.
This video will only connect to YouTube once you play it.
The visual released at the same time shows Coco reaching out her hand to the kaiju Giira. The image thus places her relationship with the creatures at the center and complements the action scenes of the trailer.
Production by Toei Animation and Tsuburaya
Kaiju Decode is a joint project of Tsuburaya Productions and Toei Animation. The series already includes a CG short film, a VR anime, and a mixed-reality game. The Ring of Aidara now expands this world with a longer anime production.
Direction is handled by the team credited as S/N. The screenplay is written by science fiction author Katsuie Shibata. Sei Nakashima and Masatsugu Saito design the characters, while Masayuki Gotoh is responsible for the monster designs. Animation is produced by Arect and Toei Animation.
Toei is working in parallel on other anime projects, including the Precure spin-off Dual Shadow. In the kaiju genre, a theatrical finale of Kaiju No. 8 for 2027 was also announced; it is not part of the Kaiju Decode project.
A specific theatrical release date for The Ring of Aidara and a German release have not yet been announced.
