Precure: Dual Shadow Brings New Villain Heroines in 2027
The spin-off features new characters and an independent story; an official teaser has already been released.

The Precure series is getting a new TV anime, Dual Shadow: Precure Villain Heroines, which is set to air in Japan in 2027. Toei Animation announced the spin-off series on October 27, 2026, together with a first teaser. This time the focus is on a so far unexplained perspective on the role of the antagonists.
Teaser Shows Flowers and Eerie Eyes
The official super teaser begins in a bright field of flowers. The mood then shifts noticeably: a single flower stands in the light, while large eyes can be seen in the background. The line "Because after all, we are not Precure" also appears. The title explicitly includes the English word "Villain", meaning villain or antagonist.

The production is announced as a completely independent story with new characters. The first announcement does not yet reveal which characters will take the lead roles or what relationship they have to the well-known Precure heroines. The darker design of the teaser suggests a different atmosphere, but does not yet confirm any concrete plot.
Independent Expansion of the Precure World
Precure began in 2004 with Futari wa Pretty Cure and has since told, across changing series, stories of girls who transform and fight against various threats. The currently running series Meitantei Precure! focuses on a detective theme. This year also saw a crossover trailer for the feature film and the announcement of a collaboration with Street Fighter 6.
Unlike a regular sequel, Dual Shadow is planned as a spin-off with its own ensemble. The producers have not yet announced any connection to specific characters or events of the existing seasons. A direct sequel storyline therefore cannot yet be inferred from the teaser.
For Dual Shadow: Precure Villain Heroines, only the broadcast year 2027 is currently known. An exact air date, voice cast, director and animation studio are not yet known. Information about a German simulcast or a license for the German-speaking market is likewise still missing. The new production is listed on the official Toei website.
