The Invisible Man and His Soon-to-Be Wife: Volume 10 Begins Married Life After the Wedding
Futabasha continues the story of Akira and Shizuka after their marriage. The German edition is several volumes behind.
The manga The Invisible Man and His Soon-to-Be Wife opens a new storyline with its tenth Japanese collected volume: Akira Tounome and Shizuka Yakou have gotten married. According to publisher Futabasha, the volume by Neko Iwatobi is due in Japan around October 29, 2026.
The Love Story Continues as a Married Couple
The manga's original title is The Invisible Man and His Soon-to-Be Wife. The two main characters work at a detective agency. Akira is an invisible man who runs the office; Shizuka is a blind woman employed there. Although Akira cannot be seen, Shizuka senses his presence. Out of their work together, a relationship develops.
Futabasha announced the wedding with an illustration designed as a joint message from the characters. The release is a campaign tied to the tenth manga volume and refers to the fictional story, not to any real couple.
The story does not end with the marriage. The official synopsis instead describes the first uncertainties of married life. Although the two have registered their marriage, they first have to get used to their new roles.
Volume 10 Deals With Family and Old Conflicts
Shizuka wonders whether to invite a former friend, from whom she parted after a quarrel, to the wedding celebration. A colleague then tells her about her own experiences with an earlier separation. Akira, for his part, has to explain to men from the community of invisible people why he married a woman from another species.
The new storyline thus builds on the series' existing themes: closeness, mutual understanding and the differences between the characters. According to Futabasha, the volume also contains additional, specially drawn pages. The Japanese edition is in A5 format and costs ¥1,012 including tax.
German Edition Is Several Volumes Behind
In Germany, Egmont Manga publishes the series under the title The Invisible Man and His Soon-to-Be Wife. Volume 3 already came out on August 4, 2026; Egmont's manga lineup lists volume 4 for December 2026. The current tenth volume is therefore, for now, a Japanese release.
Other romance manga reports on aninew.de include the finale of BokuYaba and the closing exhibition for Honey Lemon Soda. Unlike those two works, The Invisible Man and His Soon-to-Be Wife explicitly continues its story after the wedding.
