Hololive: First TV anime project launches with Studio KAI

Hololive is launching its first TV anime project of its own. Studio KAI is in charge of production; the project is part of the plans for the 10th anniversary of Hololive Production in 2027.

The official announcement of September 7 does not yet give a full series title. Only the short form "OdeHolo" or "おでホロ" has been published. The plot, visuals, cast and a start date are also not yet set. Hololive intends to present these points in a dedicated information program on September 23 from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. Japan time.

Studio KAI produces the Hololive anime

Studio KAI is handling the animation. According to Hololive, the studio has already produced several official anime productions and music videos for the VTuber group. For the new project, there is now to be a regular TV anime production within Hololive for the first time.

The announcement comes at the start of the countdown to the 10th anniversary of Hololive Production on September 7, 2027. At the same time, the company has announced further projects for the anniversary year. On aninew.de, Hololive was recently in the news, among other things, for Natsuiro Matsuri's VTuber design campaign and the appointment of La+ Darkness as Red Bull Ambassador. The recent reorganization of the VTuber agency Noripro also shows how strongly the market is currently expanding beyond classic streaming activities.

Details follow on September 23

Momosuzu Nene, Omaru Polka, Yukihana Lamy and Shishiro Botan are announced for the special program. Shirakami Fubuki and Ookami Mio will host. The broadcast is to run via the official OdeHolo YouTube channel.

An international license or a streaming service for the later TV anime has not yet been named. The final title, the format of the story and the concrete release date are likewise still open. Hololive will publish further information via the official OdeHolo channel and the associated X account.
