Hatsune Miku: First Appearance at COUNTDOWN JAPAN 26/27
Masayoshi Oishi is also on the lineup of the Japanese year-end festival, with 179 acts in total.
Hatsune Miku will perform for the first time at the Japanese music festival COUNTDOWN JAPAN on December 29, 2026. Crypton Future Media confirms the virtual singer's appearance at the 26/27 edition at Makuhari Messe in Chiba. Anison musician Masayoshi Oishi is also on the program: his performance is scheduled for December 26.
The complete list of participating artists was announced on October 28. A total of 179 acts are on the program. The festival takes place on December 26, 27, 29, 30 and 31; December 28 is a day without performances. Across four stages, pop, rock and electronic artists share the bill with musicians from the anime and Vocaloid scene.
Hatsune Miku and Anison at the Year-End Festival
Hatsune Miku is part of the December 29 program. The same festival day includes, among others, Eve and other artists associated with Vocaloid and internet music. The anison singer Masayoshi Oishi appears in the program on December 26. Crypton confirms that Hatsune Miku is making her first appearance at COUNTDOWN JAPAN.
For Hatsune Miku, the festival appearance is another stage outside her own event series. The singing synthesis software introduced by Crypton in 2007 developed, through music, videos and illustrations by numerous creators, into a virtual singer performing internationally. According to the company, the HATSUNE MIKU EXPO series now comprises 139 concerts in 55 cities. A European tour is also planned for November 2026.
Aninew.de also recently reported on the expansion of Magical Mirai 2027 to Hiroshima and the songcontest for Magical Mirai 2027. For Masayoshi Oishi, further Budokan concerts in 2027 have already been announced.
Tickets and Schedule
According to the organizers, the second ticket lottery for COUNTDOWN JAPAN 26/27 runs through the official J-Fes app until November 2, 2026 at 4 p.m. Japan time. The specific performance times and the assignment of artists to stages are yet to be published. Hatsune Miku's participation is so far confirmed only for December 29. The announcements contain no information about a broadcast of the performance.
