From Old Country Bumpkin: Third Season in Production

"From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman" is getting a third season. Production of the continuation was confirmed directly after the finale of the second season; no broadcast date or episode count has been announced so far.

To mark the announcement, the official website published a new illustration showing Beryl Gardenant walking through the autumnal landscape of his home village, Biden Village. In addition, Hiroaki Hirata, the Japanese voice of Beryl, spoke up in a video about the confirmed continuation.

Continuation after the Season 2 Finale

The second season ended in Japan on September 23, 2026. The confirmation of the third season followed immediately afterward. According to MANTANWEB, the first season ran from April to June 2025, while season 2 started in July 2026 and ended with its twelfth episode in September.

Akio Kazumi directed season 2 and Kunihiko Okada handled the series composition; the animation was produced by Passione and Hayabusa Film. The production has not yet confirmed which staff members and voice actors will return for season 3. Passione is currently also involved in other TV anime, including "Seitokai ni mo Ana wa Aru!".

The source material comes from Shigeru Sagazaki, with illustrations by Tetsuhiro Nabeshima. The light novel originally began as a web novel and is published in Japan by Square Enix. Together with the manga adaptation and the spin-offs, the series has reportedly now surpassed eleven million copies in circulation, according to current Japanese reporting.

The official announcement does not yet name a specific period for season 3. The continuation therefore has no release window for now, similar to other early-confirmed anime sequels whose timing is only specified later; a contrasting example with an already dated schedule is "Shin Samurai-den YAIBA" Season 2.
