EAT-MAN returns with the new anime series EAT-MAN The Over Order. The project was officially announced on September 10, 2026, and is the third anime adaptation of Akihito Yoshitomi's science fiction manga. Since the second TV series in 1998, 28 years have passed.

Masashi Ebara once again takes on the role of Bolt Crank, which he already voiced in the anime series of 1997 and 1998. The taciturn adventurer has the ability to eat metal and other inorganic objects and later reconstruct weapons or other objects from them. The underlying manga ran from 1996 to 2003.

Akihito Yoshitomi is directly involved in the production this time: he writes the screenplay and provides the original design concepts. Shunji Oga directs, and the character design comes from Satoshi Hirayama. The animation is produced by Studio Cab. According to Oga, The Over Order tells a self-contained story within the world of the original.

The released teaser shows new production material for the first time. In it, Bolt picks up a screw from the desert, eats metal, and then creates a large weapon. The official project account links the same YouTube upload that is also embedded in coverage by Anime!Anime!.

This return joins several recent reinterpretations of older material. Shin Kochikame returns in 2027 with a new cast, while THE RIBBON HERO revisits a classic Tezuka story.

A concrete broadcast start and details on the scope of the series have not yet been announced. A German streaming or licensing partner is also not yet known.
