The Apothecary Diaries: Second Halloween visual revealed
Lahan and Rikuson appear on the second day of the Halloween series, and a new mini drama CD accompanies the illustration.
The Apothecary Diaries released the second Halloween visual and another mini drama CD on October 30, 2026. Following Maomao and Chou-u, this time Lahan and Rikuson take center stage in the campaign "Halloween Night of the Sorcerers." A third visual with another drama CD follows on October 31.
The new sorcerer visuals show Lahan and Rikuson
In the visual released on October 30, Lahan and Rikuson wear dark blue and violet sorcerer's robes. Lahan holds a thick book and is surrounded by swirling water. Rikuson lets a raven land on his raised hand. The illustration belongs to a three-day series in which the anime production releases additional character images and short drama CDs.
The two characters talk with each other in the new mini drama CD. Toshiyuki Toyonaga voices Lahan and Koki Uchiyama voices Rikuson in the Japanese version. The second release follows the first Halloween edition from October 29 featuring Maomao and Chou-u. Anime!Anime! reports on both character pairs and the accompanying voice recordings. No further episodes of the television series are announced with this campaign.
Maomao and Chou-u open the three-day campaign
The first Halloween visual from October 29 shows Maomao and Chou-u in sorcerer's garments at a large cauldron. Maomao holds a book and stirs the liquid while Chou-u looks inside. Smoke rising in the shape of a pumpkin emerges from the cauldron. Aoi Yuki voices Maomao in the accompanying mini drama CD, and Natsumi Fujiwara voices Chou-u.
The Halloween series was already held in 2024 and 2025. The motto for 2026 is "Halloween Night of the Sorcerers." The third and final release of this year's series is announced for October 31; the characters involved had not yet been named in today's announcement.
Season 3 is airing, movie follows in December
The third anime season has been airing in Japan since October 2, 2026. Episode 53, "White Snake Fairy," is scheduled for October 30. The focus is a mysterious woman with white hair and red eyes. The season's other characters are also shown in eleven character posters already released.
On December 11, 2026, the first theatrical film The Apothecary Diaries: The Treasure of the Late Empress is also set to open in Japan. The story is based on a new tale by Natsu Hyuga. In addition, a console game for 2027 is in development, and a live-action series for 2028 has been announced. The new Halloween videos are a standalone promotional piece for the ongoing anime production.
