Dandadan: First stage adaptation opens in Tokyo
The production runs in Tokyo until September 3, and afterwards in Osaka from September 11 to 13.

The first stage adaptation of Dandadan opened on August 26, 2026 at the Nihon Seinenkan Hall in Tokyo. As Anime!Anime! reports, new photos from the dress rehearsal as well as comments from the director and cast were published to mark the start of the production. The staging is titled "Dandadan – Occultic Stage".
The Tokyo performances run until September 3. The production then moves on to Osaka, where it will be shown from September 11 to 13 at the Sky Theater MBS. The official website confirms these dates and lists Ito Imai as director, Shinjiro Kameda as scriptwriter and Ryo Konishi as composer.
Momo, Okarun and Turbo Granny on stage
Momo Ayase is played by Yuiri Murayama and Okarun by Raimu Ninomiya. Hiroki Hyakuna takes the stage for Okarun's transformed form. Mayumi Tanaka also provides the voice of Turbo Granny, playing the same character as in the TV anime adaptation.
The dress rehearsal photos show that the production relies heavily on physical performance, dance and action. According to Anime!Anime!, director Ito Imai describes the approach as an attempt to capture the battles and pacing of the source material using theatrical means. The manga by Yukinobu Tatsu runs in Shueisha's "Shonen Jump+"; Anime!Anime! now cites more than 14 million copies of the manga series in circulation.
The stage version thus adds another format to the ongoing adaptations of the work. Other major manga franchises are also currently being increasingly produced as live productions: A non-verbal live show for NARUTO launches in Kyoto in 2027.
A German date for "Dandadan – Occultic Stage" has not yet been announced. For the Japanese performances, the official site lists only Tokyo and Osaka.
