Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2: Ten episodes now on Netflix
The standalone follow-up from CD PROJEKT RED and TRIGGER tells a new story with Weak, D, Roman and Talia.
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 has been fully available on Netflix since October 20, 2026. All ten episodes of the standalone anime follow-up from CD PROJEKT RED and Studio TRIGGER were released at once. Rather than directly continuing the story of the first series, the production follows new characters through Night City.
New characters and conflicts in Night City
The new plot brings together the paths of several people searching for a way out of the violent metropolis. Weak Kingsley was once a successful Edgerunner but must now live without his cyberware. The nomad and netrunner D pursues those responsible for the destruction of his clan. His revenge leads him to the secrets of powerful corporations.
Another perspective is offered by Roman Carax, a young filmmaker who wants to document the stories of other people. Talia Yang grew up in the world of the corporations but is now closely connected to the gang Maelstrom. The series links these characters in a standalone narrative about family, revenge and coming to terms with one's own past.
Anyone who has seen the first series will find themselves once again in the universe of Cyberpunk 2077. However, the new story does not require viewers to know that the experiences of the former protagonist David Martinez are directly continued.
Production and voices
Kai Ikarashi directs. Ichigo Kanno takes over the lead character design. Masahiko Otsuka returns as writer; Bartosz Sztybor is involved as showrunner, writer and producer. Japanese studio TRIGGER again handles the animation together with CD PROJEKT RED.
In the Japanese original version, Kentaro Tone voices the former Edgerunner Weak. Koki Uchiyama voices D, Momoka Terasawa the filmmaker Roman and Akari Kito the character Talia.
Trailer and connection to the game
The production company announced the start date in August with an official trailer. It shows the new crew and the conflicts in the futuristic Night City.

At the same time as the anime's launch, CD PROJEKT RED announced new content for the video game Cyberpunk 2077. The connection between the game update 2.5 and Edgerunners 2 has already been described separately. Netflix's new steampunk animated series Bass X Machina also focuses on science-fiction action, though in a Western setting.
The second Edgerunners series comprises ten episodes and is available exclusively on Netflix.
