"Black Bullet" returns as a light novel series after twelve years. KADOKAWA announces "Black Bullet: New World Order" for November 2026; Dengeki Bunko will release two volumes simultaneously at the start and continue publication for four months in a row.

The original series by Shiden Kanzaki began in 2011, with illustrations by Saki Ukai. The last volume of the old edition appeared in 2014. For "New World Order", Ukai is designing new covers, while Kanzaki is revising the existing text and later steering the story onto a new course.

From the fourth section onward, the story changes

According to Denfaminicogamer, the plot lines of the first three sections initially remain the same, even though the text is being revised. Starting with "New World Order 04", the new version begins to diverge more strongly from the previous one. From "New World Order 05" onward, entirely new material is said to follow, building on the earlier seventh volume but continuing the story in a new direction.

This is therefore not merely a reprint of the existing seven volumes. The new edition is meant to genuinely continue the storyline that has been interrupted since 2014. No German publisher or date for a German-language edition is named in the current announcement.

Anime to be fully rebroadcast on ABEMA

Alongside the light novel's return, ABEMA will stream all twelve episodes of the 2014 TV anime adaptation in one go on October 3, 2026. The episodes are then to remain free to watch for two weeks. The announcement refers to ABEMA's Japanese service; a new anime season has not been announced.

Recently, aninew.de also published new book news about Sword Art Online: "Sugary Days". KADOKAWA itself is simultaneously restructuring its anime division and consolidating five production studios into Studio One Base.
