"Aoharu Once More" is getting a light anime adaptation and thereby becomes the third title of the BL animation label BALLOON Project. Anime!Anime! reports on the announcement from September 3, 2026; at the same time, the official Animation ID page lists the project as a newly announced title.

Toru Miyata's manga follows Hayato and Ritsu, who meet again as adults at their workplace after sharing their youth. During school their relationship remained without a clear label, although Hayato later realizes that he was in love with Ritsu. The renewed encounter sets this unfinished relationship in motion again.

Third Work of the BALLOON Project

The BALLOON Project is a joint initiative of DNP, Imagica Infos, CYBIRD and BLUE RIGHTS. According to the participating companies, the project focuses on BL works and relies on the light anime technique developed by DNP. This production method uses existing manga material directly for animation and is intended to reduce time and costs compared with classic production processes.

For "Aoharu Once More", no start date, episode count or German streaming partner has been named so far. Further production details are also to be published only at a later point. The official project site currently lists the adaptation as announced.

The manga was published in 2025 by ShuCream and has since also received a drama CD adaptation. Anime!Anime! further notes that the series reached eighth place in the "Emotional" category of the BL Award 2026 and that a continuation is running in the magazine "from RED".

The report fits into several current manga adaptations. Recently, for example, "August 31st Long Summer" was announced as a TV anime by Shaft. Also, "Mii-chan to Yamada-san" already has an anime adaptation confirmed for 2027.

A concrete release date for "Aoharu Once More" is still pending. Further information is to follow through the official channels of the BALLOON Project and Animation ID.
