Yugiri High School: Online Culture Festival Cancelled After Hiatus

The Japanese VTuber group Yugiri High School has cancelled its online culture festival, planned for October 31 to November 2, 2026. The operator viviON explains the decision with the activity hiatus of group member Amarasu Terasu (天羅洲テラス), which began on October 28.

The event, called the "Yugiri High School Culture Festival," was to present content from the group's five members over three days. According to KAI-YOU, the group had prepared singing videos, a recording around a haunted house, and a cooking competition, among other things.

Cancellation Two Days Before the Start

On October 29, the group's official account stated that the program had been developed from the outset for the joint participation of all five members. Given the current situation, the festival could not be held in its originally planned form. The organizers apologized to viewers for the short-notice cancellation.

Originally, a singing video announced as an eve-of-event program was to appear on October 31. A haunted house video was planned for November 1, and a cooking competition for November 2. The cancellation notice did not name a replacement date.

Why Amarasu Terasu Is on Hiatus

The operator had already announced on October 28 a provisional suspension of Amarasu Terasu's activities. According to the official statement, several remarks or behaviors from previous streams are being reviewed. The company does not provide details for contractual reasons. The duration of the hiatus is also not yet determined.

The archive of a broadcast from October 28 was set to private during the review. The organizers ask that clips from it not be redistributed and that neither the person concerned nor other group members be confronted directly with inquiries. The published statement does not yet include a result of the review.

A Young Group from the Aogiri High School Circle

Yugiri High School debuted in June 2026 with five members. The project, run by viviON, is presented as a sister group of Aogiri High School. An joint official channel was opened in October; the now-cancelled culture festival was to be one of the first major group programs on it.

The cancellation concerns a different group than the recent changes at Noripro or the end of Sony Music's VTuber project VEE covered on aninew.de. No connection between these developments is claimed.

Yugiri High School has not yet announced whether the culture festival will be rescheduled in a modified form.
