Steps: Netflix Releases First Trailer for the Cinderella Film
The animated film by Alyce Tzue and John Ripa hits Netflix worldwide on November 20, 2026.

Netflix has released the first teaser for "Steps"; the animated film streams worldwide starting November 20, 2026. Rather than Cinderella herself, the focus is on her stepsisters, Lilith and Margot.
As Anime!Anime! reports, the film reimagines the familiar Cinderella story from the perspective of the supposedly "wicked" stepsisters. Lilith lives in Cinderella's shadow, steals the good fairy's magic wand, and together with Margot throws the royal ball into chaos. This allows Priscilla to take control of the kingdom. Lilith must then team up with Cinderella to undo the consequences.

Ali Wong, Amanda Seyfried and Daniel Radcliffe Lead the Cast
Ali Wong voices Lilith, Stephanie Hsu takes on Margot, and Amanda Seyfried can be heard as Cinderella. The rest of the English voice cast includes Nikki Glaser as Priscilla, Bette Midler as the Fairy Godmother, and Daniel Radcliffe as the Prince. Alyce Tzue and John Ripa direct the film, which is produced by Netflix Animation Studios. Amy Poehler, Jane Hartwell and Kim Lessing are also involved as producers.
The teaser shows that "Steps" combines familiar fairy-tale elements with a plot focused more on adventure and sibling relationships. According to Netflix, this includes chases, a journey through the so-called Screaming Woods, and the collaboration between Lilith and Cinderella after the kingdom falls out of balance.
For Netflix, "Steps" is part of a larger animation lineup. Aninew.de also has current coverage of the Netflix anime film THE RIBBON HERO and its expanded cast as well as the Japanese theatrical release of THE RIBBON HERO.
"Steps" arrives on Netflix worldwide on November 20, 2026. Netflix has not named a German voice cast in the information published so far.
