My Hero Academia: Short Film Premieres August 3
"I am a hero too" tells a new episode about Eri, who is now a teenager.

The new short film "My Hero Academia: I am a hero too" premieres on August 3, 2026 at midnight Japan time on Japanese streaming platforms. The focus is on Eri, who now attends high school and, for one day, returns to U.A. High School.
The production is part of the project "My Hero Academia The Animation 10th Anniversary," with which the tenth year of the TV anime adaptation is being celebrated. The source material is a special manga drawn by Kohei Horikoshi, from the final fan book "My Hero Academia Ultra Age" published in December 2024. The story is set after the end of the main series and shows a glimpse of Eri's later life.
First Screenings Before the Streaming Release
Before its regular online release, "I am a hero too" is being shown at several anniversary events. The first presentation took place in July at the My Hero Academia programming of Anime Expo 2026 in Los Angeles. In Japan, the short film will also be shown on August 1 and 2 as part of the "Character Matchup Episodes Screenings."
The August 1 screening combines the short film with selected episodes about Izuku Midoriya and Katsuki Bakugo. The following day, episodes about Midoriya and Tomura Shigaraki are on the program. The events feature, among others, the voice actors Daiki Yamashita, Nobuhiko Okamoto and Koki Uchiyama.
Release in Germany Still Open
The official announcement does not yet name a specific list of streaming services. It is also unconfirmed whether the short film will be available with German subtitles at the same time or at a later date. The announcement explicitly refers only to the launch on Japanese video platforms.
"I am a hero too" follows further content from the anniversary project, including the animated supplementary chapter "More." The regular TV series of My Hero Academia ended in 2025 with the Final Season; the new short film expands the epilogue with Eri's perspective.
