Matsuken Anime premieres August 29 on YouTube
Ken Matsudaira voices the anime version of himself; Sumire Uesaka and Daisuke Namikawa are also part of the cast.

"Matsuken Anime: Kore Seibai Shite mo Ii desu ka?" premieres on YouTube on August 29, 2026. The main character Matsuken is voiced by Ken Matsudaira himself, while Sumire Uesaka takes on the role of the dog companion Matsuin. Daisuke Namikawa voices various characters who appear from episode to episode.
Anime!Anime! has confirmed the start date and the main cast. The project is based on Matsudaira's well-known "Matsuken Samba" motif and is designed as a short YouTube anime series. In it, Matsuken and Matsuin encounter everyday annoyances and uncertainties of the present day and "punish" them in humorous ways.
According to its own statements, Kayac Akiba Studio is responsible for the character concept, the design and the animation production. The production committee also includes Hakuhodo Products, Sanki Promotion, Tatsunoko Production, Tohan and Hakuhodo Casting & Entertainment. Tatsunoko Production is also represented on aninew.de with the classic "Mach GoGoGo".
In addition to the series, the project is planned as a broader character IP project. Those involved name YouTube as the starting point and hold out the prospect of further use in merchandise, events, promotion and collaborations. Concrete additional formats or further release dates have not yet been announced.
Matsudaira's participation in the cast is especially unusual, as he voices an anime character that is explicitly based on his own public persona. Uesaka voices Matsuin, his companion, while Namikawa voices different supporting characters depending on the episode.
No international streaming service or separate German-language release was mentioned in the announcements. The launch initially takes place via the project's official YouTube channel on August 29, 2026.
