KING OF PRISM: Two New CG Routes Start in January 2027
WITH and Callings get new CG appearances; a revised 4DX version with intensified effects follows in February.
The anime film KING OF PRISM: Your Endless Call – Prism Tours returns to Japanese cinemas in January 2027 with two additional film versions. The variants include newly produced CG concert sequences by the groups WITH and Callings. Avex announced the dates on November 5, 2026, and published a new poster alongside them.
Two New Routes from January 2027
On January 8, 2027, "route1.5: Warera ga Seishun Over The Rainbow with CGC" begins. Alongside the program featuring Over The Rainbow, this version shows a newly animated CG appearance by WITH for the song "CRAZY GONNA CRAZY." The group comes from the Pretty Series sphere and is one of the film's crossover elements.
The second version follows on January 22, 2027. In "route5.5: Itoshi no Callings Stage," the group Callings receives a CG appearance with "Itoshi no Tinker Bell." The production has released new artwork for both versions. The different routes replace parts of the existing Prism Show sequences rather than forming a standalone new feature film.
The official announcement lists a uniform base price of ¥1,800 for the Japanese screenings. The participating cinemas and ticket booking are accessible via the official film website.
Expanded 4DX Version in February
In addition, the production brings a revised 4DX version back to cinemas. Motion seats as well as water and wind effects are said to be used more intensively than in the original screening. The version with "route1" runs from February 19 to 25, 2027, and "route2" follows from February 26 to March 4, 2027. From February 19, the SCREENX version also returns to cinemas; its projection remains unchanged. Surcharges may apply for these special formats.
The original film premiered in Japan on June 27, 2025. KING OF PRISM developed out of Pretty Rhythm: Rainbow Live and combines idol performances, music, and elaborately staged Prism Shows. The series' first cinema production appeared in 2016.
Music-oriented anime productions can also be found in THE IDOLM@STER SideM: F@NTASTIC BATTLE FES and the School Idol Musical of Love Live!. Special formats are also used for other Japanese cinema releases, such as the 4DX release of Meitantei Precure!. A release of the new KING OF PRISM versions in German-speaking regions has not been announced.
