HUNTER×HUNTER: Release date for chapter 421 remains open after chapter 420
The ten chapters since the return at the end of June have been published; Weekly Shonen Jump has not yet announced a date for chapter 421.

Chapter 420 of "HUNTER×HUNTER" was released in Weekly Shonen Jump on September 7, 2026; no release date has yet been set for the next chapter. On the last page, the editorial team announces that the next date will be revealed in the magazine as soon as it has been decided.
This brings to an end, for now, the run of ten consecutive chapters that began on June 29 with chapter 411. Before that, no new chapter had appeared in Weekly Shonen Jump for about a year and a half, since chapter 410. ORICON NEWS reports that with chapter 420 the current block is now published up to and including the September 7 issue.
Togashi is already working on later chapters
An open release date does not, in this case, mean that no further manuscripts exist. Yoshihiro Togashi regularly updates followers on the status of his work via his official X account. According to ORICON NEWS, on September 1 he reported that the manuscript for chapter 427 had been completed.
The series' unusual publication format is important here: the classic weekly serialization was already ended in 2022. When Shueisha announced the return with chapter 411, the publisher therefore explicitly used the term "publication" rather than "resumption of serialization." The usual labeling as an ongoing manga hiatus is also not used for "HUNTER×HUNTER."
Yoshihiro Togashi's manga has been running since 1998. With volume 39, released in Japan on July 3, 2026, the series surpassed the 100 million copy mark, including digital editions, according to ORICON NEWS.
For other ongoing manga, return dates also sometimes remain open, for example "Medalist" and "Yuru Camp△" and "mono". In the case of "HUNTER×HUNTER,” however, the situation differs due to the irregular publication model that has been in effect since 2022.
