Hoshimachi Suisei: New single "GUM & DROP" released
The VTuber is collaborating on the song with producers and songwriters from Los Angeles as well as TAKU INOUE.
Hoshimachi Suisei releases her new single "GUM & DROP" on August 31, 2026. According to KAI-YOU, the song was created in collaboration with producers and songwriters from Los Angeles; Suisei herself is also involved in the lyrics.
Production between Japan and Los Angeles
"GUM & DROP" grew out of a co-writing session in Los Angeles. Alongside Hoshimachi Suisei, Sabrina Claudio and Paris Alexa also worked on the lyrics. According to KAI-YOU, the composition comes from Mikhail Beltran, Xansei, Sabrina Claudio and Paris Alexa. TAKU INOUE, with whom Suisei already works in the Midnight Grand Orchestra project, is involved as a producer.
Suisei describes the track as the first song created under her new organizational structure. In March 2026 she founded her own structure for her artist activities with Studio STELLAR, while her connection to Hololive remains. The new track is thus among the first releases that make this phase of her musical career visible.
Music video follows on release day
A music video is announced alongside the single for August 31 at 8 p.m. Japan time. At the time of this report, the official upload has not yet been published, so no video is embedded here yet.
For the rest of the year, Hoshimachi Suisei also has further major music dates. KAI-YOU mentions, among others, her performance at ROCK IN JAPAN FESTIVAL 2026 on September 19. For December 20, a joint live show with tuki. at K-Arena Yokohama is also announced. A live recording of "Stellar Stellar" from the festival "Echoes Baa 2026" is also set to appear on the THE FIRST TAKE YouTube channel as early as August 30.
With "GUM & DROP", Suisei thus clearly continues her focus on international music production and independent artistic work. The source does not mention a separate German release; the publication is announced as a new song for August 31.
