On September 23, 2026, a public string quartet concert with music from Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu takes place at the Kobe Culture Hall. As KAI-YOU and the official announcement from the GEKIBAN LIVE PROJECT report, this is a revival of the program "Suzumiya Haruhi no Yonsou," which was first performed in 2025.

The concert begins at 3 p.m., with admission from 2 p.m. On stage is a quartet of members of the Kobe City Chamber Orchestra: Keiko Nishio and Satoshi Morioka on violin, Etsuko Nakajima on viola, and Masanori Denda on cello. The organizers explicitly point out that no members of the anime cast will perform and that the concert does without additional video staging.

Recording to be released via Lantis

The performance is also planned as a public recording. The pieces recorded there are to be released at a later date through Lantis, the music label of Bandai Namco Music Live. A specific release date or a complete tracklist has not yet been determined.

The program is part of the GEKIBAN LIVE PROJECT by Bandai Namco Music Live, which focuses on concert productions built around anime soundtracks. The first edition of "Suzumiya Haruhi no Yonsou" took place in July 2025; the new performance is now being staged again on a larger scale.

Part of the 20th anniversary of the anime

The TV anime based on Nagaru Tanigawa's light novel series aired in 2006 and celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2026. The anniversary project "Suzumiya Haruhi no Orei" is running alongside it, and various activities surrounding the series have already been announced under its banner. Other long-running series are also marking 2026 with their own anniversary formats, including the free VRChat exhibition on My Hero Academia and the anniversary box for Yuri!!! on ICE.

The venue fits the history of the work: Nishinomiya in Hyogo Prefecture is considered an important model for the locations in the series and is also closely connected to author Nagaru Tanigawa. For the new edition of the concert, musicians from Kobe and Nishinomiya were therefore selected.

Tickets are offered in three categories. Prices are ¥5,800 for S seats, ¥3,800 for A seats, and ¥1,900 for visitors under 25 years of age.
