Aniplex has announced a new anime series for "Fate/strange Fake". The sequel was confirmed on August 22, 2026, during a panel at Anime NYC in New York, and a new PV and teaser visual were released at the same time.

The new visual places Ayaka Sajyou, Saber and Sigma at the center. According to Aniplex, the PV also shows the three characters in a fragmented, blended presentation. The announcement does not yet give a start date, season designation or episode count for the new series.

Sequel to the 2026 TV series

"Fate/strange Fake" is based on the light novel series by Ryohgo Narita, published by Dengeki Bunko since 2015. The story moves the Holy Grail War to the United States and brings numerous Masters and Servants together in a deliberately irregular conflict in Snowfield. The previous TV adaptation was produced by A-1 Pictures.

The new production continues from the TV series that aired in 2026. In the official statement, besides Narita, character designer Shizuki Morii and the voice actors Kana Hanazawa, Yuki Ono and Gakuto Kajiwara also comment on the sequel. Hanazawa points to the developed relationship between Ayaka and Saber, while Kajiwara addresses Sigma's further path in the Holy Grail War.

Release date for the new series remains open

Which parts of the source material the new series will adapt and when it will air is currently not known. So far, Aniplex has limited the announcement to confirming production, the new visual and the PV. The official statement also contains no information on a German-language streaming release.

The official website still lists "Fate/strange Fake" as a TV anime and names A-1 Pictures as the animation studio of the previous adaptation. Further production details for the newly announced series are to follow at a later date.
